love is a river but the river run dry the clouds blow bitter in a boneyard sky flesh dries up and it burns away and you can’t remember where your heart once lay and it’s hard to make it in this world today
lyrics by Dave Carter
This is one of my very favorite Dave Carter songs, and I’m so grateful that Tracy Grammer unearthed this beautiful rendition performed by Dave and recorded in their home studio in Portland, OR. Everyone should pick up their latest release, Little Blue Egg available from Red House Records.
MTV spoke to writer/producer Simon Kinberg at the premiere of his latest film, This Means War, and they talked about the highly anticipated X-Men: First Class sequel!
"I don’t know what the title is going to be but certainly I’m working on the sequel to ‘X-Men: First Class' right now,” Kinberg said. “I’m going to be writing and producing it, I’m starting now, with Matthew Vaughn directing.”
Kinberg went on to say that while they’re still in the early stages of story-planning, the second film will likely involve a lot more Magneto.
Um…I know that Fassbender is the big thing right now…but wasn’t the first film almost exclusively Magneto? I’m not really complaining, because Erik Lensherr is complex and awesome, but…Charles is my favorite, y’all. I adore that he was kind of an oblivious doof in the first one because it left the door open for so much character exploration/growth after his paralysis. I want to see that progression from McAvoy’s interpretation in XMFC to Sir Patrick Stewart’s Xavier in the original three films.
I guess what I’m saying is that I’m only okay with the second film involving a lot more Magneto if it’s because he’s in scenes with Xavier. Both Fassbender & McAvoy have expressed a desire to see more of Xavier’s progression and I hope that they are able to make their thoughts heard during the outlining sessions for this sequel. Let us never forget that this is the guy who wrote X-Men: Last Stand.
